About
Originating from Latin America, the fruit known as passionfruit, or lilikoi, was introduced to Hawaii in 1880 by missionaries. It was promoted as the ‘flower of five wounds’, equating different shapes in the lilikoi flower to Christianity. The name lilikoi comes from the region in East Maui it was first introduced to. The fruits can vary in color, and inside the rind cover is fleshy, juicy fruit pulp with edible seeds.

Lilikoi is highest in Vitamin C, as well as riboflavin, niacin, iron, and phosphorus. This fruit can be juiced, baked into treats, make into lilikoi butter, or anything else you can create!
